Island of Tarawa

Today, we received a call from President Shaw.  He told us that we would be serving in Tarawa in the Gilbert Islands or Kiribati.  In the Gilbertese language, it is spoken as "Kiribus".  The map above has a big circle around Tarawa.  It is a small atoll, which is kind of like an island but on a diet.

Ok, so this is where we are going. The Marshall Islands, the Gilbert Islands (Kiribati), the Phoenix Islands, and the Line Islands...and a bunch of water in-between. Check out the link on Google Maps:

We had a big party and opened up the long awaited LETTER.  When Steve was reading the letter to everyone I skipped ahead to see where we were going. Before he could finish his sentence I let out a little cuss word. Of course it is on video for posterity. Who knows, maybe I can figure out how to get the video onto this blog when I figure out how to get the pictures. We have been called to serve as mission nurses in the Marshall Islands, Majuro mission.
